Diabetes is a condition in which there is an unusual increase in blood glucose due to low or no insulin activity. Diabetes is very common and it is prevalent at any age. There are three main types of diabetes known as Type I diabetes, Type II diabetes and Gestational diabetes.

Untreated diabetes can lead to high cholesterol in some cases and in many cases it can lead to anxiety and depression.  Bupropion is most appropriate to treat depression.

Some of the Reasons for Diabetes

It is strongly believed that the occurrence of diabetes is due to the transfer of genes from one generation to another generation, a person can develop diabetes. If a mother is diabetic there is high risk of developing in child, if father is diabetic the risk may be 2 to 3% and the risk is very high when both parents are diabetic. Increase in age also increases the risk of developing diabetes. Imbalanced nutrition, following dietary habits which are low in protein, fiber and high intake of refined products may leads to diabetes.

Over weight or obese condition increases the risk of diabetes by increasing the insulin resistance. People leading a sedentary lifestyle are more prone to diabetes when compared to those who do exercise minimum for three days in a weak. Stress I another reason for diabetes. Stress leads to emotional disturbances or physical injury which may be the underlying factor fro developing diabetes. Certain drug therapy leads to increase in blood glucose. Drugs like clozapine, zyprexa, risperidone etc are known to induce diabetes.

Pancreas is infected by certain bacterial like strephylococci which leads to the destruction of pancreas resulting in diabetes. Diabetes is commonly seen in males but it is stronger in females and females with multiple pregnancies or suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It was found out that there is strong relationship between high systolic pressure and diabetes. High triglycerides and cholesterol level and reduced HDL level also involved in the risk of developing diabetes.
