Stress leads to emotional disturbances or physical injury which may be the underlying factor fro developing diabetes. Certain drug therapy leads to increase in blood glucose. Drugs like clozapine, zyprexa, risperidone etc are known to induce diabetes.
Pancreas is infected by certain bacterial like strephylococci which leads to the destruction of pancreas resulting in diabetes. Diabetes is commonly seen in males but it is stronger in females and females with multiple pregnancies or suffering from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It was found out that there is strong relationship between high systolic pressure and diabetes. High triglycerides and cholesterol level and reduced HDL level also involved in the risk of developing diabetes.
