One 20mg capsule, with a glass of water, or as directed by your doctor, once a day, before breakfast. Never increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed because this drug can be habit-forming. This medication will only work in conjunction with a calorie controlled diet and exercise plan.
What are the possible side effects of Generic Acomplia?
All drugs have side effects, and Rimonabant is no exception. Some of the side effects are beneficial - such as the altered blood lipid profile. However, there are other known side effects that may influence whether or not you continue to take the drug. These include:
Nausea and vomiting. Nausea, vomiting and other gastrointestinal disorders are relatively common side effects of taking Acomplia.
Disorders of the nervous system - including headaches, faintness and dizziness.
Psychiatric disorders including mood swings, anxiety, depression, irritability, sleep disorders and other similar disorders.
If you already have a history of mental health disorders, it would be highly advisable to mention this to your doctor before obtaining this drug.
What precautions should I take with Generic Acomplia?
Rimonabant should only under your doctor's guidance. It should not be taken by:
Anyone who exhibits hypersensitivity or an allergic reaction to the drug.
Anyone with impaired or limited liver function.
Anyone with impaired kidney function. It should never be used in patients with a severely limited kidney function.
Anyone over the age of 75, or anyone under the age of 18 years.
Pregnant or lactating women - safety in these groups has not been established.
Anyone suffering from epilepsy ? the medication should be prescribed with caution in this instance.
The Rimonabant tablet contains lactose and should therefore not be prescribed to patients with lactose intolerance.
It should not be prescribed to patients with an uncontrolled psychiatric condition, and is not recommended for use with antidepressants.
Are there any drug interactions with Generic Acomplia?
Rimonabant should not be taken, or should be taken only under exceptional circumstances, under your doctor's direct guidance, in the following circumstances:
- Anyone who exhibits hypersensitivity or an allergic reaction to the drug (it should never be used in these circumstances).
- It should only be used with caution in combination with CYP3A4 inhibitors, such as ketocinazole, ritonavir, clarthromycin and related drugs.
- It should not be prescribed to patients with an uncontrolled psychiatric condition, and is not recommended for use with antidepressants.
What happens if I overdose on Generic Acomplia?
If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
What happens if I miss a dose of Generic Acomplia?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
How do I store Generic Acomplia?
Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
