Myristica officinalis ( Jaiphal): Volatile oil of the herbs contains4.8% myristicin, the active ingredient of the herbs. Its action on uterus is peripher oil and is related to methoxy group present in the drug. The drug has aromatic odor and has stimulant properties, it has anesthetic action on the C.N.S.
Clove (Laung): It contains a heavy volatile oil 16 to 20% Couphorresin 6% oil distilled from cloves. Contains Engenol 85%-92%, which acts as a local anesthetic.
